Can You Trust the Bible in 2026?
People assume the Bible is a telephone-game document — copied, recopied, and hopelessly corrupted over centuries. The evidence says otherwise.
The New Testament has more manuscript support than any other ancient text — over 5,000 Greek manuscripts, with the earliest fragments dating within decades of the originals. Compare this to Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars: 10 manuscripts, oldest copy from 900 years after Caesar died. No historian doubts Caesar's Wars.
Archaeology has consistently confirmed rather than contradicted the historical backdrop of scripture. The Pool of Bethesda. The existence of Pontius Pilate. The destruction of Jericho.
None of this proves the theological claims. But it does demonstrate that dismissing the Bible as unreliable history requires special pleading that no one applies to comparable texts.
